some photography tips

ok people.. not sure why... but lately an incredible amount of ppl are starting to get into photography..

some of them, asking me on what camera to get... others, wat lenses... and again others, wat flash....

the thing about photography is.... its not the more equipment u have, the more expensive your stuff are, the better yr end product... its true that it helps, but a good photographer makes use of what he/she has...

for example... in terms of lighting, u dont need to buy expensive flashes... make use of table lamps, candles, ceiling light, torchlight, computer screen (YES!!! computer screen!!)..... and not to forget the most important... THE SUN!!!

i mention computer screen.... here's an example...

i am using my laptop screen as light here.... using 1600iso, f2.8 and s 40. of cos the shutter speed depends on the brightness of ur comp screen as well... mine is pretty bright...

these two pics involve vry vry little editing.... in fact the 2nd picture is raw... only editing was resizing...

and here's a picture i took using a torchlight a couple years back in mabul....

basically..... try to be creative and dont keep blaming yr equipments....

i'll try to do some high key shots in the next few months... if u dont know what high key is... visit louis' website. =p

nearly 4 am now.... time to.....

ps/ i got a big idea for my photoblog in 2 months time... stay tuned..

it'll be harder to take those shots without ISO1600 and f2.8 XD

with lower end cameras, u have to deal with noises and use a tripod to keep the camera steady.

in conclusion, better equipment = more room for more creativity =P
